    Programmer Analyst to serve on a collaborative team that uses health care data such as claims and survey data to conduct data management and analyses on behalf of our clients. The Programmer Analyst will support our contracts with major federal agencies, states, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). By performing high quality programming based on client requirements, producing thorough documentation and communication, and developing well thought out final analyses, datasets, and reports you will contribute to our mission of improving public health worldwide. 


    • Analyzes specifications, formulates programming approaches, and consults with clients to clarify requirements. 
    • Tracks estimates of cost and time for assigned tasks and activities. 
    • Maintains task materials and documentation, investigates existing databases, and researches data anomalies.  Provides input to progress reports for assigned tasks. 
    • Establishes procedures for producing verifiable results.  Writes, tests, debugs, revises, and refines programs. 
    • Provides quality control pertaining to program output and data files. 
    • Works in a team environment, following established procedures. 
    • May supervise programming staff, assigning routine programming tasks, guiding and reviewing work, and evaluating performance. 
    • Performs additional duties as required.



    Bachelors degree and 3-5 years of SAS programming experience, including proficiency in using the SAS DATA step to perform complex file merges, create analysis variables, and generate descriptive statistics for quality control purposes.  Experience with health care data is preferred. Experience with Stata, R, SPSS, Sudaan, and Tableau a plus.
