    Works with managers to develop, track, and execute the financial plan for the Operating Group.  Monitors financial performance for selected projects.  Assists in the development of the annual budget and tracks operating performance against budget for the projects and group.  Assists the Group VP in the presentation of the financial status of both direct and indirect projects for internal and external customers.  Works with GVP and Project Managers to develop a basis of estimate for cost proposals.


    • Assists managers in monitoring the financial performance of projects.  Checks and validates project managers estimates of costs to complete projects. Tracks performance against budget.
    • Works with Accounting, project management, the project team, contracts, and business development, to track financial performance, develop budgets and proposals, and report on monthly performance for the Group.
    • Reviews status of projects and budgets and prepares required reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Works closely with managers to ensure contracts are performing within budget, forecast and according to contract milestones.
    • Tracks funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures including subcontractor costs. Assists project managers in preparing, monitoring, and reporting expenditure projections. Assists contracts in submission of timely requests for additional funding to the customer.
    • Works with the Group Vice President to complete the monthly and quarterly project reviews.  Provides the financials for the review and provides recommendations based on the analysis of the Estimates at Completion. Communicates and /or escalates issues, including, budget overruns, losses, noncompliance in a timely manner to the CFO. 
    • Prepares Rough Order Magnitudes and works closely with PM to develop the Basis of Estimates (BOE) for proposals.
    • Maintains and updates the project forecast in the finance database and tracks budget versus actuals monthly and quarterly.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • Accounting or Finance degree.
    • 2+ years experience using detailed spreadsheets to develop cost proposals, estimates to complete, financial analysis
    • 2+ years government contracting experience, preferably in project control, financial reporting, forecasting, pricing, or contracts.
    • General understanding of CP, FP, and T&M contracts
    • Must have strong financial and analytical skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate), Costpoint, Cognos, and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Experience with Earned Value Management or EVM concepts desirable.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work across all parts of the organization
