    Working with an existing portfolio of government clients and prospective clients the Business Development (BD) and Strategy Manager/Director will support the development and expansion of the business units pipeline and guide and support group leadership and capture teams to achieve profitable growth for the company


    • Work with senior leadership to set business unit strategy, develop tactical account plans, and report regularly on progress toward goals
    • Conduct strategic analyses to identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities
    • Meet with client organizations to understand their strategic directions and develop customer intimacy
    • Manage , which includes, monitoring, analyzing and tracking pipeline opportunities
    • Promote awareness of SSS activities within relevant research and client communities
    • Provide expertise in capture management, proposal development for multiple business development initiatives
    • Collaborate across business units to support the marketing of cross-company solutions
    • Operate independently leveraging cross-functional resources in a matrix environment


    • At least 5 -9 years of experience in business development, capture management or business strategy development, 3 of which working in the health community
    • Proficient in the standard proposal  and capture methodologies ie Shipley or other standard processes
    • Demonstrated success growing business in the US Federal sector
    • Effective communicator with technical staff, peers, senior leadership, and customers
    • Working knowledge of Federal contracting practices
    • Strong written and oral presentation skills
    • Strong business acumen


    • Bachelors degree in a related discipline, health science or business required; Masters degree preferred
