The Cloud Developer within SSS’s Health Technology Solutions (HTS) will be responsible for creating an Azure cloud tenancy for multiple applications following all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC). This is a hands-on position responsible for the development and delivery of cloud native applications from concept to completion. Work in a structured manner following SDLC processes like CMMI, Agile and SCRUM practices.

 

The candidate will perform code upgrades, implement new features, and migrate applications from the on premise environment to the Azure cloud tenancy, while leveraging industry standard automated provisioning and deployment tools such as Puppet and Chef. The candidate will work in conjunction with the infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance with FedRAMP guidelines.

 

The ideal candidate must be willing to work in a highly collaborative approach, managing multiple competing assignments. The candidate must have strong application development and technical background with a passion to learn and implement industry leading technologies to the benefit of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Architects, Designs and builds systems in Azure Government Cloud.
  • Help implement a continuous deployment, continuous integration model for server provisioning and application deployment.
  • Performs Configuration Management of servers with tools such as Chef or Puppet.
  • Performs Continuous Integration and Deployment pipeline activities by leveraging tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, etc.
  • Writes code to implement or maintain applications on the C#/.NET stack.
  • Follow best practices in software engineering to promote quality, scalability, and consistency.
  • Work with infrastructure and security team personnel to ensure FedRAMP compliance of SSS Azure Government cloud tenancy systems
  • Hands-on participation in the design, development, and testing of cloud native applications using .NET/Azure Services
  • Design, build, test and deliver high quality, complex applications, diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Perform code review sessions with other developers and suggest appropriate improvements or alternatives, Implement code development best practices
  • Influence peers and technical staff within the team and collaborate with infrastructure engineers to promote cloud based automation
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication and collaboration to achieve results

Qualifications

Technical Qualifications:

 

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, specifically: Azure development practices
  • Experience with scripting languages such as: Python and PowerShell.
  • Prior hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL development
  • Formal testing and software quality assurance experience, including hierarchical test cycle (unit test, integration test and user-acceptance test)
  • Experience with Iterative approach to development, using short development cycles and frequent builds, have practiced Agile/SCRUM
  • Ability to develop secure solutions, familiarity with FISMA and knowledge of industry best practices regarding information security

 

 

Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field is a must.
  • 8 or more years of Software Development experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in public, private or government cloud environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud security practices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with writing Unit tests and Acceptance tests are a plus.
  • Able to facilitate with clients to clarify overall solutions, vision, goals and objectives
  • Exhibit clear oral and written communication skills
