The MS SQL Database Developer within SSS’s Health Technology Solutions will develop Data Integration and Database Solutions primarily using Microsoft SQL Server 2016 toolset. Candidate will work extensively on large scale datasets to implement T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS and ETL packages, which will enable customers to make research and policy decisions in the State and Federal Market. Candidate will implement database solutions to include complex SQL programming, stored procedures and SSIS packages, SSRS report development, taking design directions from Data Architect. Work with Subject Mater Experts to support data analysis deliverables.

 

The ideal candidate must be willing to work in a highly collaborative approach, managing multiple competing assignments. ​The candidate must have strong database and technical background with a passion to learn health care claims-based data integration and analysis. ​

Responsibilities

  • Enhance, optimize, maintain and support ETL processes using stored procedures and data integration tools, such as Microsoft SSIS
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, cleansing data, transforming and loading data from multiple formats
  • Support data quality testing and production issues resolution for ETL processes
  • Create and maintain data models and technical documentation for data warehouse
  • Participate in user meetings to gather requirements to turn them into data analysis deliverables
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication and collaboration to achieve results by working effectively taking directions from Data Architect
  • Develop a strong understanding of health care claims data and support developing new analytics to meet business goals
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with 4-6+ years of related experience
  • Experience supporting MS SQL Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Solutions
  • Experience with various Healthcare Data Services reporting is a huge plus
  • Exhibit clear oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with project managers and business analysts to draft and finalize database and data warehouse requirements

Technical Requirements:

  • 5+ years hands on experience with Microsoft SQL Server components Microsoft Integration Services(SSIS) & Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience writing complex SQL, dynamic SQL, and stored procedures for data warehouse processing;
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehouse(DW) Schema, Querying and programming for data analytics
  • Strong experience monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity.
  • Experience with Data Visualization libraries/tools such as Tableau is a big plus
  • Experience in developing rich interactive Dashboards and Data intensive analytics is a big plus
  • Familiarity with health care or health service industry is a big plus
