SSS is seeking a Senior Research Associate to provide analytical and planning support for all stages of clinical research projects, including research project design, implementation plans, execution of tasks, and dissemination of results, while reporting to the Program Director. The Senior Research Associate also participates in activities such as literature review and project task management through supporting scientific committees and the respective project manager, as well as writing sections of future proposals related to the original work for submission to the federal government (primarily NIH).


  • Handles a heavy complex workload, balancing multiple activities effectively, switching priorities quickly as needs change, utilizing resources effectively.
  • Demonstrates superior problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Stays knowledgeable in all internal company procedures and external relevant clinical policies.
  • Handles complex and high priority research projects, demanding clients, while assisting others to do the same.
  • Keeps their manager informed of important issues and contributes significantly to system improvement activities.
  • Initiates and leads activities to improve the overall quality of work and working environment within the project and company, proactively identifying problems, presenting alternatives, and continuously working with project managers and program directors to create and revise policies, procedures, and tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in a scientific field and at least three years professional experience in a clinical or health-related position.
  • PhD in biomedical science preferred
  • Prior health policy and NIH experience as well as exposure to multi-stakeholder collaborative research considered a plus.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • At least three years of experience in the design, development, conduct or analysis of clinical research.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, which may include business and technical writing, editing, and proofreading
  • Excellent interpersonal and client management skills with a professional and customer service oriented demeanor
  • Must be proficient and have experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
