SSS is currently seeking an Epidemiologist to serve on a multi‐disciplinary team that conducts analyses and reports on findings from clinical- and population-based epidemiological studies on behalf of the federal government. Our clients include major federal agencies, such as the NIH, CDC, and VA. The studies we conduct focus on the impact of the physical and social environment on human health and well-being, as well as genetic, occupational, and lifestyle risk factors. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes other epidemiologists, data managers and SAS programmers, and operations staff. Epidemiologists play a critical role in study design, implementation, analysis, and manuscript development. This position offers many opportunities for leadership, professional development, innovation, collaboration across disciplines, and publication. This position is ideal for a recent postdoc or graduate of a PhD program in epidemiology, although those with more experience will also be considered, as will experienced MPH‐level applicants.
Doctoral degree in epidemiology plus at least 2 years relevant experience preferred, or masters degree with at least 5 years of experience. Must have experience in the design and execution of epidemiologic research, including advanced statistical analysis, and in publishing research results, with a strong career appropriate record of peer reviewed publications. Training in an array of public health science disciplines will be considered. Experience with epidemiological or clinical research studies sponsored by the federal government is highly desirable. Requires proficiency in at least one statistical software such as SAS or R, as well as excellent oral and written communication, writing, and organizational skills. Able to work well in team environment and independently.
