Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of a data management plan for forms development, processing, and data entry.
  • Reviews data collection instruments for efficient data collection.
  • Assists in assessment of data quality and processing efficiencies of various data collection strategies.
  • Within the scope of an approved data management plan, estimates costs for data processing activities for study budgets, provides estimates of time needed for data cleaning, medical coding, data entry, data reconciliation.
  • Manages data processing activities according to data management plan. Management includes hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and scheduling of data entry operators, coders, and data managers.
  • Writes monthly progress reports for data processing aspects of various work assignments.
  • Attends key meetings including Scope meetings, Study Manager meetings, and study specific meetings, as needed.
  • Uses a variety of software tools to facilitate and streamline data processing tasks.
  • Performs other tasks as needed, such as document processing, filing and file maintenance, and operation of office equipment.
  • Leads database lock activities.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field.
  • 5 years experience in data entry, data cleaning and general quality control functions.
  • 3 or more years experience with design and revision of data collection instruments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong experience with remote data capure (RDC) and electronic data capture (EDC) systems
  • Solid skills in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly detail oriented for the accurate processing of review of clinical data and review/maintenance of data management documentation
