Responsibilities

•Provide support for senior analysts (statisticians, epidemiologists) by performing data analysis under supervision for clinical research studies, as well as perform statistical analysis, interpret data, and prepare verbal and written statistical reports

•Some of the analysis includes previously written SAS programs, so familiarity with that language is required.  As experiments progress further, SAS programming will be needed.

•Analyses may include power analysis, regression, survival analysis as well as formatting tables and compiling reports.                      

•Organizing programs and output in folders by project is required, as is creating and maintaining associated documentation.

 

Qualifications

 

  • M.S. degree plus 7 - 10 years of experience; or a PhD with 5 years of experience
  • Pharmaceutical industry, consulting, or government experience of 10 or more years
  • Experience with early to late-phase clinical development
  • Experience with SAS and R statistical packages
  • Some proficiency with R, plotting or running packages, would be a bonus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and client management skills
  • Familiarity with ICH guidelines and FDA/EMA guidance
  • Strong statistical consulting skills
  • Sound understanding and application of research and statistical analysis methods, including methods for randomized trials, longitudinal data, and interim analyses of study endpoints
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with non-statisticians and project managers
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in all MS-Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MS Projects a plus.
  • Must possess a professional and customer service oriented demeanor
  • Experience working in matrix environments; ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to perform job specific responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Exercise sound judgment and able to make decisions independently
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills, strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
